Thank you! I have nothing but positive things to say about DOF Reality. Today it is a rarity to have a company provide excellent technical support along with an excellent product! When we needed to contact a vendor of ours for support we generally figured out the problem ourselves because the amount of time it took for them to answer was not acceptable. I’ve been in the ISP (Internet Service Provider) business for 24 years and back in the day we used to have service like this from companies. The frame design is quite impressive all the way up to the powder coated finish! Again, I had a couple of questions so I emailed support and again my emails were answered within minutes. Once full assembled I was “wowed” on the quality of the product. I finished assembling the frame in a little over an hour as I was just taking my time. Instructions were well documented, the suggested videos to watch were also extremely helpful. Every item was bubble wrapped and nicely fitted together. I was thoroughly impressed with the packaging of both boxes. Five days later I received my two packages. I had many questions and I took a shot in the dark by asking them and to my surprise, my email was answered within minutes of me sending it! We went back and forth on the emails and then I decided to take the plunge by ordering my 3DOF system from you all.Īs soon as the order shipped I received an email from you stating the tracking number, documentation to read up etc. When I saw the initial setup, which I believe was a 3DOF system, I began by opening up a communications channel via email with you. While searching around I came across a video that was reviewing your product. At this phase I haven’t even began researching the motors or anything else that’s required for a full motion sim. The more I began researching frame designs the more complex things were becoming on my end. Have been researching the motion simulators for a while and have been working on designing a frame constructed out of steel. I’m writing this letter mainly because I wanted to let you all know how my experience has been so far with DOF Reality and what I think of your products. Those builds you have there are just unbelievable. I plan to add vibe functionality later on and we will see what the future brings. As expected you can spend hours in optimizing and tweaking but man what have I missed back in the times where there was no VR or motion in racing sims…. I studied systems engineering some years ago so I have some background for electronics, mechanics and software.įinally due to time and space limitations I decided to get a DOF Reality as it was easier than to gather all the parts and I really love it. So I spent some nights reading through this forum and all the different topics that can and need to be considered. Then I read about the possibilty to use motion rig systems to increase the immersion and reduce motions sickness (it really helped in my case). I had my HTC Vive for some time till I realized how much more fun it makes to do racing sims in VR. Then again, compared to our "price is no object" pick - the CXC Motion Pro II that starts at $63K and can crest the six-figure mark when fully kitted-out - or breaking into an automaker's headquarters, that seems like a bargain.I’m happy to join this great community with all your experience around motion sim. However, going all-in on a Next Level motion control racing setup can push upwards of $10 grand when you include the cost of your wheel and pedal box. Just like in a real car, being able to feel how the car is reacting to your inputs and the surface of the road is not only enjoyable, but is also a great tool for improving your driving performance. There's also an optional Buttkicker haptic add-on that lets players feel the rumble of the road and engine through the seat. This $3,000 add-on for an $800 racing sim rig is eye-wateringly expensive, but it can be further upgraded with Next Level's $6,000 Traction Plus platform, which adds yaw motion to the system allowing drivers to feel the rotation of a vehicle during a drift or the lack-thereof when understeering. ![]() ![]() A sim racing cockpit can be as simple as a wheel stand and your couch or as complex as this VR and motion-enabled CXC Simulations rig. ![]()
